Since the January 1st, I’ve been seeing posts everywhere about creating healthier habits. It’s all the buzz every new year! I’m nowhere near 100% as far as clean eating but I’ve gotten much better over time. One question I always get is “Why don’t you eat meat?” My black card is automatically revoked when I say I don’t eat chicken. And I’m assumed to be Muslim when I say I don’t do pork.
Health & Beauty
Ladies, we all know that creating a flawless hairstyle takes a bit of work. My natural hair journey has been full of struggles, but one thing I’ve learned is that your styling products can make all the difference.
Today I’m presenting you Ms. Tiara Dean products. They sent me some samples of their whipped hair and body butters to try out. And ladies, you know how we spread the good word when we really like something (and even when we don’t)!
Nope, not a Halloween reference!
One of my grandmothers wound up in the hospital last week. Most of my immediate family was on vacation in Florida so I had to jump in. I spent 11 hours in the emergency room that day. And it made me wonder what the everyday shift of an ER nurse looks like.
Who doesn’t like to smell good? Exactly, nobody! I’ve been needing to stock up on some new scents but kept putting that off (nothing new there!).
And then something wonderful happened! I received an invitation to partner with It’s My Hair! Magazine and The Body Shop at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta. The store was celebrating their grand reopening on Saturday and the place looked great. And they had perfect selfie lighting throughout the store so everyone took plenty of pics.
My body had been going a bit crazy since the beginning of the year and I had no idea why.
So I decided to make a trip to the OB/GYN. Ladies, you know how scary that can be. But I needed answers! I didn’t tell many people about my results. I didn’t even post it on Facebook.
When we look good, we feel good, right?
That’s why in addition to treating my body better, I’m taking good care of my hair too. I partnered with It’s My Hair! Magazine this month to try their Product Junkie box.
It’s already the second week of August. Lord, where has the time gone?! For those that reached out to me after last week’s post, I’m coming for you! Hopefully you’re eating well and getting exercise so far this month.
Today I want to share some simple safety things to keep in mind while you’re getting you sweat on. And I’ll update you about my progress so far this month. Music is pivotal to my life; so of course I listen to it when I work out. Still there are precautions to take to prevent a trip to the hospital.
Uh oh, I’m late! It was supposed to be here by now!
My summer body that is! Jeez, what did you think I was talking about?
Same thing happened last year. And the year before that. When it comes to eating healthy and exercising, I’m either doing great or I’m doing terribly. There’s not much grey area for me. I’ve been getting back into healthier habits for a few weeks, but decided that it’s time to turn up the heat.
The summertime is jam-packed with activities. Baby showers, the beach, grilled food, hikes in the mountains, camping in the woods – need I go on? In the midst of enjoying all that the season has to offer we sometimes get careless with our beauty regimens. Don’t fret! I’m here to make a few recommendations.
