I’ll Look at Your Resume…for FREE!

Last week I made a promise on my Facebook page to look at resumes for FREE. I’ve been crazy busy for the last few days but now I finally have the time to make good on that promise!

I’m always being asked to do a resume for someone. I know that having a career you love is a serious contributor to overall happiness. I also know that a good resume is a key component in the process. That’s why I talk about resumes here. A lot. Your resume should be updated and ready to go at all times. Companies still hire throughout the holiday season and into the new year so I always advise my clients to be on the lookout for openings.

If you think your resume needs some TLC, today is your lucky day…

For the low price of $0 I will look at your resume and give some pointers on how you can improve it. This offer is only open until Friday. All you have to do is email me your resume in MS Word or PDF format and I will respond with my suggestions. Easy peasy!

In the meantime feel free to check out these posts about resumes!

My email inbox is waiting!

What do you struggle with when you’re working on your resume?

Until next time…

The One Page Resume & Why You Need One

You may or may not know that outside of writing this blog, I run a writing and editing firm. One of my favorite things to do is work on resumes for my clients. And I always recommend having multiple resumes especially if you’re scouting for jobs in more than one field. In case you haven’t noticed, the one page resume is trending and has been for awhile. I am not against longer resumes at all. And there isn’t any one rule that can be applied to every resume. In fact I actually have a few resume versions that are two pages even though they’re not my “go to” choices. Continue Reading

4 Ways to Boost Your Resume NOW!

Resume: A brief account of one’s professional or work experience and qualifications, often submitted with an employment application*

A resume is normally the one thing standing between you and a job interview. I did a post “6 Resume Mistakes to Avoid” and today I want to tell you some things that you should include, like, right now if you want your resume to instantly be better. Continue Reading

Good Writers vs Bad Writers

Can we agree that writing is just a part of life? There’s really no way around it.

Knowing the numerical value of Pi hasn’t enhanced my life. Identifying different dinosaurs hasn’t helped my career at all. But I’ve had to make my own resume so I could find a job. I’ve had to write letters and contracts. Writing is just something (I believe) everyone should know how to do!

But it doesn’t come easy for everyone. You know how some people just seem to be naturally good at writing? They pick up a pen and paper and come up with something that just speaks to you. And the whole time you read their writing you’re thinking to yourself, “That’s exactly how I feel but I just couldn’t find the words…” Continue Reading
